The Bennett Prize
About this opportunity
The Bennett Prize awards $75,000 to a woman artist to create and tour a solo exhibition of figurative realist paintings. Hosted by the Muskegon Museum of Art and created in 2018, the prize aims to advance women painters in figurative realism who have not yet achieved full professional recognition. Round 5 is open in 2026, with the winning exhibition travelling to multiple venues across the country.
Application tips
Submit 3 to 5 original paintings completed within the past five years depicting representational human figures. Oil, watercolour, gouache, and pastels are accepted; mixed media must have paint as the primary material. Paintings over photographs are not eligible.
