Cité Internationale des Arts Residency (2-12 Programme)

Visual Arts Residency

About this opportunity

The Cité Internationale des Arts is a vast artists' residence in the heart of Paris, in the Marais district. The 2-12 programme allows individual artists to apply directly for residencies lasting between two and twelve months. With over 300 studios and a truly international community, the Cité offers an unparalleled opportunity to develop new work while engaging with artists and cultural practitioners from around the world.

Application tips

The 2-12 programme requires artists to cover studio fees, so research funding options through your national arts council or cultural foundation before applying. The 2026-2027 cycle application ran 18 November 2025 to 19 January 2026 (now closed), with results announced end of April 2026. Residencies run September 2026 to August 2027. Separate partner programmes (via Institut francais, Art Explora, and others) offer fully funded residencies with their own deadlines.
