About this opportunity

MacDowell is one of the foremost artist residency programmes in the United States, set on 450 acres in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Approximately 300 fellowships are awarded each year across seven disciplines. Residents receive a private studio, meals delivered to their door, and uninterrupted time to focus on their work.

Application tips

Applications require professional achievements, a current work sample, and a project proposal. The February 10 deadline is for fall 2026 and winter 2027 residencies (results mid-May). The next deadline is September 10, 2026 for spring/summer 2027 residencies (applications open 15 August 2026). No application fee.
