About this opportunity

The Studio Museum in Harlem's Artist-in-Residence programme is one of the most prestigious residencies for artists of African and Afro-Latinx descent. Since 1969, it has supported over 150 emerging artists with studio space, a stipend, professional development, and a culminating exhibition at the museum. The 2026 residency runs from March 15 to October 15.

Applications for the current cycle ran August 25 to October 7, 2025. The next cycle is expected to open around August 2026. Your practice should demonstrate rigour and ambition.
