Sustainable Darkroom Futures Residency
About this opportunity
Sustainable Darkroom Futures is a six-month hybrid research residency for five UK-based practitioners developing projects that look at the bigger picture of systems in photography and film. Residents attend seven online evening seminars between April and June 2027, receive project mentoring every two weeks, give mid-point presentations in June, and show their work in an exhibition and symposium with the University of Sunderland in October 2027. Each resident also writes a report of at least 2,000 words for online publication.
Application tips
Applications are made through a Google Form, and audio or video submissions of up to ten minutes are welcome. Selected residents must attend all online sessions where possible and travel to Sunderland for the October 2027 exhibition and symposium, so check your availability before applying.
