Visual Art Open Prize
About this opportunity
The Visual Art Open is an annual international art prize with a GBP 10,000 total prize fund and a finalist exhibition at the Minster Building in London. The overall winner receives GBP 2,000 cash and category winners receive GBP 250 each. Categories are Painting, Sculpture, Drawing and Illustration, Mixed Media/Collage/Printmaking, Photography and Digital Art, Student Artist and Art Educator. Entry fees apply per artwork (up to five entries), with reduced rates for students and art educators.
Application tips
You can enter up to five works. Student entrants must upload proof of student status. Work must be available for sale during the exhibition period, and installations or performance works are only accepted if presented as a single visual artwork.

Hosted by the Muskegon Museum of Art and created in 2018, the prize aims to advance women painters in figurative realism who have not yet achieved full professional recognition. Round 5 closed on 19 September 2026, with the winning exhibition travelling to multiple venues across the country.
