The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, set in the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, offers some of the most immersive visual arts residencies in North America. Programmes run throughout the year, providing studio space, faculty lectures, workshops, peer dialogue, and access to outstanding facilities including printmaking, ceramics, and digital media labs.
Application tips
Multiple programme strands run throughout the year with different deadlines. The Summer 2026 BAiR deadline was 21 January 2026; check the website for upcoming autumn and thematic residency deadlines. All participants receive a full tuition scholarship, but accommodation and meals carry an additional cost (approximately CAD 7,000 for a six-week programme).
