About this opportunity
The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, set in the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, offers some of the most immersive visual arts residencies in North America. Programmes run throughout the year, providing studio space, faculty lectures, workshops, peer dialogue, and access to outstanding facilities including printmaking, ceramics, and digital media labs.
Application tips
Multiple programme strands run throughout the year with different deadlines. The Summer 2026 BAiR deadline has passed. The Visual Arts Thematic - Future Figurations Residency (Jan-Feb 2027) has a deadline of 8 July 2026. All participants receive a full tuition scholarship, but accommodation and meals carry an additional cost (approximately CAD 7,000 for a six-week programme).
