About this opportunity

newplatform.art runs a free Professional Development Programme (PDP) for emerging and early-career visual artists in the UK. Focused on career-building rather than creative guidance, the programme covers practical topics including funding, pricing, gallery relations, contracts, and income diversification. Participants attend approximately two to three online sessions per month (60 to 90 minutes each) from October 2026 to April 2027, with optional in-person daytime sessions available. Small-group mentoring with arts professionals, coaching, and presentation practice are core elements. Graduates gain access to an alumni network and eligibility for paid exhibition opportunities through corporate partners, plus potential art prizes and sales.

Application tips

The programme particularly welcomes applications from underrepresented artists, self-taught practitioners, and those based outside London. Apply via the Zealous platform (free): submit a one-page CV, a 250-word statement, and up to eight practice images. Applications typically open in mid-July and close in late August each year.
