About this opportunity
The Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont, is the largest international artists' and writers' residency programme in the United States, hosting approximately 50 residents at any given time. Visual artists receive private 24-hour studio space, accommodation, and three daily meals. The programme offers an intensive schedule of visiting artist talks, studio visits, and slide lectures alongside generous unstructured time.
Application tips
Two annual application cycles: 15 February to 31 March, and 15 August to 30 September. Applications for Vermont Week are accepted 15 December to 31 January. Currently closed until the next cycle opens. All residents receive at least a partial fellowship, and a substantial proportion receive full funding, so do not let cost deter you from applying. The programme has a reputation for being welcoming to emerging and first-time applicants.
