Liu Shiming Art Foundation

The Liu Shiming Artist Grants support early-career visual artists in creating new projects that explore the interplay between traditional cultural or historical influences and contemporary artistic practice. Now in its fourth annual cycle, the programme awards up to five grants of USD $5,000 each to artists within their first decade of professional practice. Grant recipients' work is featured in the foundation's exhibitions; the 2026 cohort will be exhibited in 'Bio-morph' (June-August 2026). Winners are notified December 2, 2026.
Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts

The Paris Photo-Aperture PhotoBook Awards recognise excellence in photobook publishing across three categories: First PhotoBook, PhotoBook of the Year, and Photography Catalog of the Year. Since 2012, the awards have become one of the most watched photobook prizes worldwide, giving early-career photobook makers a route into international visibility through the shortlist exhibition at Paris Photo and the accompanying Aperture PhotoBook Review.

Tracey Emin Foundation

TEAR is a free, studio-based residency programme founded by Tracey Emin at TKE Studios in Margate, Kent. Each cohort of painters spends 15 months working alongside peers and established artists, with regular group critiques, visits, and community events. The programme is specifically designed for painters at a formative point in their careers, and the 2027-28 cohort will run from April 2027 through early July 2028.
The Photographers' Gallery

The Photographers' Gallery invites applications for 'Cite the Past, Sight the Stars', a two-month residency at Wigwell Lodge in Derbyshire, approximately one mile from Wirksworth in the Peak District. The programme supports artists researching and expanding their thinking around photography, technology, and innovative approaches to image making and visual culture. The residency runs from 2 February to 31 March 2027. Residents receive a monthly stipend of £1,000 (£2,000 total), a £1,000 production budget, up to £500 travel allowance, two months of accommodation and studio space, curatorial support from The Photographers' Gallery, public promotion throughout the residency, and a public presentation opportunity. A potential commission for 2027/2028 may follow from the residency.
Sundance Institute

The Sundance Collab x TikTok Micro-Series Challenge is a joint initiative from Sundance Institute and TikTok inviting writers and creators worldwide to develop original short-form vertical series. Five finalists progress from application to a live pitch event with TikTok in November 2026, with each finalist receiving a USD 5,000 grant plus mentorship through Sundance Collab. Submissions must include a logline, character bios, a full series synopsis, up to 45 pages of screenplay covering the first 30 episodes, and a 1 to 3-page series bible.
MacDowell

MacDowell is one of the foremost artist residency programmes in the United States, set on 450 acres in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Approximately 300 fellowships are awarded each year across seven disciplines. Residents receive a private studio, meals delivered to their door, and uninterrupted time to focus on their work.

Vadodara, India
Artcore, in collaboration with Space Studio Baroda, invites two UK-based artists to participate in the Connecting Threads 2027 Winter Residency Programme in Vadodara, India. The approximately four-week residency (beginning January 2027) provides studio space, international travel, accommodation, meals, and a £1,000 bursary. Artists engage in studio visits, discussions, presentations, and peer exchange with artists from across India, exploring cross-cultural dialogue through their practice.
Hambidge Center for the Creative Arts and Sciences

Hambidge Center is a 600-acre creative sanctuary in the mountains of North Georgia, USA, offering multidisciplinary artist residencies ranging from two to eight weeks. Residents receive a private studio with work and living space, bathroom, and full kitchen. Communal vegetarian dinners are hosted Tuesday to Friday for groups of eight to ten residents, creating a collegial atmosphere. The residency fee is USD $300 per week (subsidised from the actual cost of $2,250 per week). Distinguished Fellowships are awarded on merit and cover fees entirely plus provide a $700 stipend. Financial aid scholarships are available to approximately 35% of applicants who request assistance. Three application cycles run annually: Spring (February to May), Summer (June to August), and Fall (September to December).
La Napoule Art Foundation

The La Napoule Art Foundation offers up to ten artists the opportunity to live and work at the Chateau de La Napoule complex on the French Riviera. The International Artist Residency runs for four weeks in spring. The residency focuses on individual artistic expression and exploration, with artists given dedicated studio space and time to develop their practice in a historic Mediterranean setting.

Green Film Lab Rome is a three-day residential workshop from TorinoFilmLab and Green Film focused on environmentally sustainable film and TV production. Organised by Museo Nazionale del Cinema and Trentino Film Commission in partnership with Fondazione Roma Lazio Film Commission, and in collaboration with EAVE and MIA, it introduces participants to the Green Film Protocol and certification process through case studies, budgeting sessions, and one-to-one work on their own projects.

TorinoFilmLab is an international audiovisual lab supporting filmmakers from around the world through training, development, funding, and networking. Operating since 2008, it has built a global community of 2,500 participants from 85 countries and generated 920 projects, with 250 films and TV series screened at major international festivals. The Muskegon Museum of Art

The Bennett Prize awards $75,000 to a woman artist to create and tour a solo exhibition of figurative realist paintings. Hosted by the Muskegon Museum of Art and created in 2018, the prize aims to advance women painters in figurative realism who have not yet achieved full professional recognition. Round 5 is open in 2026, with the winning exhibition travelling to multiple venues across the country.

The programme distributes £280,000 across 11 awards administered through UK partner organisations: eight awards in England (£15,000 to £40,000), two in Scotland (£15,000 to £40,000), and one in Wales (£20,000). Projects can span the full development cycle from initial research through to public presentation and touring. Residents develop their next feature-length project with the support of industry professionals, culminating in a presentation to potential financiers during the Cannes Film Festival.
Lucie Foundation

The Lucie Foundation Scholarship Program awards four cash prizes across two disciplines and two career categories. In Fine Art and Photojournalism/Documentary, both Emerging and Professional photographers can enter. Emerging winners receive $1,000 (plus a Sony Camera Kit for Photojournalism/Documentary); Professional winners receive $3,000. Selected works are exhibited at House of Lucie galleries in Los Angeles, Athens, Budapest, Ostuni, and Samui.
